Thanks, I know that everyone can open the hood, but this is for a friend Disco that is only driven for Off-road competitions.

Thanks,
Peter

I think Pangea expeditions has a tasteful rendition of the Camel Trophy Hood pins.

Panama Disco, we should all live in your "neck of the woods" so that we too could enjoy off-road in diesels. Years ago there were locking hood pins, there probably still are. Should be able to get them about anywhere that hood pins are sold, local auto parts store, or online. Thank You, LRW.

Thanks for the info Lonnie.

It?s great to be able to have diesel engines, diesel is cheap and with one full tank, on my disco, will last for at least 2 weeks (On the road that is). Although is not to environmental friendly. But yeah it?s nice, I travel with a friend that owns a Toyota Land Cruiser Diesel (2001) to a place call Darien, it?s on the border with Colombia, its just pure jungle with awesome sceneries and lots of fauna & Flora, its and adventure but it the past few years this have become a dangerous place because of the Colombian guerillas.

why would you want them? anyone could open your hood (bonnet). most auo stors should have them they are a one size fits all kind of thing

From the Pangea site:

"Bonnet Pins
Imported from England, these Camel Trophy specification bonnet pins will finally put an end to that factory hood release cable that always seems to fail at the most inopportune times. These stainless steel pins add an extra bit of safety to your expedition."

The poly performance site was working for me last night and for a couple days before that, but now it seems as though it doesnt work I didnt find the rubber hood strap things on the site but they have some cool suspension stuff though

Hey...

I was not sure about the site, but my "favorites" file was deleted by my idiot IT manager...so it was out of memory...I am certain they are still in business...good luck finding them :D

These pins are the BEST in the business as they are extremey easy to install AND adjust, + there is no rattling noise which is a dire issue for me.

Tires on the Disco (currently) are Interco IROK in the 36x13.5x15 flavor (36.8x14.5 as per their site) - we also use 35x10.5x15 Simex ETs

Well, the RRC's hood release cables are rather finniky and I ddin't want to be locked out so I took the oppertunity to insure that won't happen as well as stabilize the hood. The RRC hoods tend to shake a lil over 65mph...

I got a set of the hoodpins that the Camel Tropy rigs had

Installing them on the rangie took a little tweaking as the hoods are different and a little deeper.

for anyone in the uk thats interested, I got a pair from Halfords (ripspeed) for ?7.99 ..... not the best in quality (feel quite cheap), but if ?8 stops my bonnet flipping on the windscreen at 70mph then so much the better.......

Cheers
