What is a sandwich adapter with oil cooler and gauge hook-ups. Is this a way for me to cook on the trail?

Damn Garrett everything leads to the penis with you. What's up with that? The sandwich adapter is an adapter that fits between your block and oil filter that has connections for oil cooler and oil pressure gauge.
