I need to permanently mount a CB antenna to the wife's Freelander. I was using a glass mounted one for a while, but wasn't crazy about the performance. Also, the glue melted in Death Valley.... :(
Anyone have pictures of their CB antenna mounting solutions they want to share?

Axel, you could probably get away with using a 10-meter antenna mount if you're not using a fiberglass whip-style antenna.

Ham radio shops have all sorts of cool antenna mounting options for vehicles like the Freelander.

I'm using that antenna mount for my 2m/440 antenna up on my roof rack, but it is rated to handle antennas up to 45" long, so that should be plenty of mount for a wire CB antenna. It uses the same PL-259 connector that CB antennas use, so compatibility shouldn't really be an issue.

If that mount doesn't do it for you, then you could consider a lip mount antenna, like these:

I suggest taking a trip to the local amateur radio shop and taking a look at them first hand to see if they'd work for you.

Axel,
Mount it on the tire carrier just like most do on the Disco. I have pictures posted in the freelander section if you want to see what it looks like. Everything mounted up the same way and I even had used my bracket from my 96D1.
