Pulled the CDL shifter linkage on my 97 D1 today. In the process of rebuilding the shifter my untrusty assistant broke the plastic bushing that goes over the swivel ball at the middle of the lever. The big one held in place by the external snap ring. Anyone had this happen or just know of a source that I can get this plastic bush? I would hate to think of replacing the whole mechanism for what looks like a .50 cent part. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

If I am not mistaken, most of those plastic pieces cannot be bought seperately. You might have to pay for a lot of parts in order to get just the piece that you need.

Well I'm just not having that. ;) So anybody know what diameter of hose to use, to cut down into a bushing? Thanks.

For future reference it was part # FRC5078. Cost was $1.78 at Land Rover Des Moines. It was an in stock item.
