Clutch Hydrolic fluid replacement procedure...

Does anyone have a step by step document on replacing the fluid in the clutch system?

I noticed this morning (Temp: -25C) that the clutch was very hard to operate and that got me thinking about the hydrolics of the system. I wondered if replacing the fluid with a synthetic might help it on cold days but thought I should start by asking here if anyone has attempted this.

So, anyone out there had a similar experience or have any thoughts on the idea of replacing the fluid with synthetic?

Thx
Shawn

I replaced my power steering and ACE fluid with synthetic and got better results.
Does your clutch slave have a bleeder nipple on it that you can get to. If you, suck out all the fluid in the reservor and put new fluid in. Open the bleeder valve on the slave and allow it to drip until new clear fluid come thru, make sure you keep an eye on the fluid level while doing this, don't want to run low and suck in some air. Once you see new clear fluid dripping, close the bleeder and you're done.
Good luck,

Make sure you use Castrol fluids, DOT 3 or 4 - other brands etc have a tendancy to corrode the hoses etc.

If you want to realyy be safe, use Vavolines or anyone esles synthetic DOT 4 type, will not burn as fast and will not absorb water which turns the fluid aciditic and then rots parts.
Good luck,
