Cracked Moon Roof!

Firstly, I would like to say that my LR3 did great at the ORV Park in Hot Springs this weekend. I was very impressed with its capabilities with stock everything, including tires.

Secondly, I have a problem now. I guess a tree limb or a rock or something smacked my glass above my first moonroof above the passenger seat. It's about 4-5 inches long. Is there anything I can do to keep it from cracking further until I can replace it? Also, will Land Rover fix it under warranty? Should I just go through my insurance and get it replaced? Thank you.

Beleive it or not, but clear finger nail polish will hold it at bay. Had a crack in the windsheild and it held up for about a year until I replaced it. Try it. What do you have to loose?

Yeah. YOu can't really see the crack unless you look good. I am good, but don't want it to shatter and fall on my son's head.
I don't think you need to worry about that! Is the crack in both layers? There is a top and bottom layer of glass, with a safety film in between.

I have a crack on my g35 held together with superglue. Clean the crack out well and apply a thin layer of superglue. You can use a razor blade to scrape it smooth once it cures.

Instead of using glue or nail polish you can get windshield crack fixer at most auto parts stores. All it is is a super thin superglue. You can work it into the crack sometimes by pressing the sides of the crack, small risk in making it bigger doing that. Most of the time the glue just sucks right into the crack as designed.
