Not sure I mentioned that I’m looking at a 4.0 V6 in an ‘06 LR3. Customer states the car quit running while driving at highway speed. Engine bucked and surged, picked up power then shut down.
I was not aware the Ford Ranger V6 engine was prone to catastrophic timing chain failure. What is really interesting about this failure is that because the failure caused the truck to quit running before the total catastrophe. I have a bunch of metal in the pan right below the chains. But nothing made it to the sump!
This is either the luckiest dude alive, or I’m an idiot. We’ll find out I guess.
