Does anyone think it would be worth it to invest in 2 12 inch subs and an amp. The box would be removable so that i could have all the rear cargo room with my seats down. If i got tired with it i would give it to my cousin. But do you think it would be worth it or should I wait and invest in something else in the future

There's no such thing as investing when it comes to adding things to cars, so just decide if you want to "spend" the money on the new toys

Exactly, "investing" is nothing more than a marketing strategy to induce people to think that there is some value in what they're buying. In the consumer goods catagory, 99% of the time "investing" = unnecessary frivilous purchase. Do us all a favor and spend the money on a wench...or at least an off roading sticker that makes it look like you might actually use your LR once in a while. :D

Not so true. I had a pair of 12's in my eclipse with a fosgate 1000 watt amp. (a little overkill) I bught my amp NEW off ebay from a wholesaler for $275.00 over a year ago. I just sold it 2 days ago for $278.00 on ebay. Plus I'll make about $5.00 in shipping. So investing to me, is just the value that you can retain from a product after you are done using it. Also on that note I just made $28.00 profit off an o2 tank for paintball which I used for over a year also. EBAY ROCKS!

I can understand why you want to do it, the SE stereo has almost no bass but great highs. I have the same stereo in my RRS, and I added a single JL 12w6 v.2 with a JL 500.1 amp. It realy fills out the sound in the car and I would totally recommend adding a sub to that stereo.

I agree i have been looking at JL audio subs because they are pretty much the best sound quality. Do you have a custom box, a free air sub, or is it in a box you buy from the company. Because i have been looking at 2 10 inch Jl subs in a Jl made box. And as far as using my Lr more , I do have a winch right now and I try to go off-road as much as possible but I have school. So it limits my ability to get out, Plus the nearest good trails are 2 hours away.

I'm looking at the Polk audio 2 12' enclosure, and the polk/momo subs. But also the Jl's have some of the best sound quality their is. And i'm not into blowing the crap out of my car so I don't want a bandpass or ported system, so the polk 12 enclosure isn't what i need. But I'm going to try the JL's soon and decide soon.

JL audio has sub enclosures that are already sealed, wired, and have subs in it. Polk audio has one model but is designed more for ghetto bass. It will cost me less for a JL enclosure with 2 12's or 10's. Than too buy the polk/momo subs and get a box for them.

I have a Q-logic sealed box and it sounds totally integrated into the stereo and clean. I listened to the polkMOMO's and they sound good too. I just have a love for JL Audio. I don't know if you NEED 2 sub's either 10 or 12. I would concentrate on a single 12 to save space and get a good strong amp (like a JL 500.1) :)

Two 12" is overkill. I have a 10" JL W2 with a PPi 500W mono amp with the JL enclosure. The W2 can hit so hard it will hurt your ears. I have mine turned almost all the way down and it blends nicely into the rest of the system while still giving super clean, tight bass. If you want to save some $$ look at the W6. I made mine completly removeable so that when I go camping I can take it out.

I did something a little different...I listen to mostly light rock music (Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Etc.) so I had my audio shop build a ported box with 3 6.5" JL subs. They are true subs and run a fosgate 300.1 mono amp. It sounds incredible. and mixes nicely with the Disco 4" speakers (also JL). You'll find if you go too deep on the bass you will miss all your mids, which Land Rover struggles with because of the smaller speaker sizes in the doors. The box takes up about 8 inches of cargo space and goes from side to side, carpeted to match, cant find anything better. The 6.5s will produce plenty of bass no matter what music you listen to, even rap sounds nice and full and can shake the car a good bit.
