I should also add that my automotive ideas are not based in practicality or financial sense. I am always too emotional about what I choose to drive or get stranded in. I am sure one day the government will ban most of what I drive and will have to go buy an all electric vehicle that looks like every other vehicle. Certainly in my kids lifetime.

Thanks again for all the insight, I really do appreciate it. We went and looked at a D1 and D2 this past weekend. I think a big part of my hesitation is just the poor overall quality of (at least some) of these trucks. It's just a bit of a shock to see all the things that are broken and/or inoperable on so many of these trucks at this point in the game. And so much cheap, broken plastic everywhere. For me, it tends to call into question the quality (or lack thereof) of all the components. Of course, to be completely fair, these were $5k trucks (list price) that are actually worth more like half that, but the owners just haven't realized it yet.
