How hard of a job is it to change the Diff seals? I see oil all over both of mine on a 96 disco. I just did the 2"OME lift so Im on to my next project should I also change the oil when i do the seals?

probably the pinion seals. where the driveshaft enters the Diffs, and on the rear where the rotoflex drive flange enters that diff. the 4" round ones

I have noticed some "mositure" from my pinion seal, hence I check my diff fluid pretty regurly and every time I take the fill plug out fluid comes out so I have not worried about it, have you checked your fluid?

before you think about changing pinion seals try a fluid change with a quart of lucas stabilizer in each. Clean the diff well and look for leaks after the change. Fixed my rear pinion seal leak.

before doing anything, check and make sure your breather lines are clear.

a clogged or plugged line will cause the pinion seals to leak.

Simple job.

Remove driveshaft bolts to pinion flange and hold shaft out of the way with a wire or rope or such.
Undo pinon nut.
Remove pinion flange.
Change seal.
Reverse procedure, making sure to properly torque pinion nut. Proper procedure is to replace nut since it is a nyloc style.
Check diff oil level (no need to drain first)

Sometime the pinion flange is damaged by the seal and may leak again. If this case you can try skimming a bit of flange off or replacing it.
