When my DII, 65K /1999, is at idle i get a vibration. Its not a constant vibration and varies When i look under the hood it seems that the engine seems to struggle and shakes a bit, then it goes away for a second and comes about again. i've changed the plugs/wires, sump gasket, rocker cover gaskets, springs/shocks and idler pulley. The idler pully was the dealer "fix" for the vibration but it hasn't seemed to help. the engine mounts seem to be good...

Any suggestions.

I also get this tapping/clicking sound that sounds like its comming from under the dash in the middle towards the bottom. It almost sounds like its comming from where the trans is, but when i put it from Park or drive or neutral the symptoms seem to be the same..

Thanks for your time
-Pat

PS: anyone know why i get some air flow from my vents when the climate control unit is off???

Slide under your vehicle and check out your entire exhaust system. Look for worn rubber grommets (Hanger points) and inspect the muffler bolts at the connection between the y-pipe and the exhaust.

If you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, connect it to the nipple on the main fuel line, and see if your fuel pressure is holding steady (~3800).

It's possible the rough idle is a bad fuel pump... I just recently had that problem.
