One of my fog light bulbs burnt out and I went to go change it but have frankly no idea how to do so. Any good instructions out there? Also, the plastic outer cover (what you see when looking at the fogs from front of the car) has become dislodged which is probably why the bulb burnt out from water leaking in. Do I need to reseal this?

Much thanks

Assuming : Disco 1, and you mean front fog lights, they are sealed beam units, so you cannot replace the bulb, you need a complete replacement. Go try Napa, they might have a unit, any of the usual sources listed on this site, or dealer ( expensive!)

my 96 disco came with the factory fogs, they are not sealed beams, you have to remove the lamp housings from the frames, there are two screws on either sides, a bit of a PITA to get out, then remove the adjustment screw arm and the lamp drops free, it will be a standard H3 bulb, then reseal with silicone and bolt back up -Andy

My '98 DI came with factory fog lights, and mine are not sealed beam. Mine could be removed from behind the bumper my removing the entire assembly, which is held in place with a black metal frame. My lens was pulled away from the housing, like your's, so I just sealed it back up with silicone.

Wednesday night I took out the two side screws on my drivers side fog light, disconnected the aiming bolt, and unpluged the light from up above. I then opened it and removed the old bulb - made a trip to walmart picked up a H3 55W bulb - the white cord is attatched to the bulb(all one piece) - Reinstalled the new one (less than 30 min including the trip to walmart) A year ago I replaced the Pass side - I own a 97 DI - Its easy - email me if you have any questions rjvaden@yahoo.com

Good Luck,

If you dont want to glue it(so you can open it easily for future use), just buy some rubber stripping with an adhesive backing - that should be a cheap fix - although the side screws should hold the lens to the back. They go through the mount, plastic washer, into the housing and through the metal clip mounted to the lens.
