Discovery 5 - SCV6 questions

To my chagrin I’m starting to look for a Disco 5. Given 90% of my driving is in town I’d have to go with the SCV6. Does this motor have some of the same issues with failing coolant crossover pipes like it did in the LR4? Any timing chain issues or other major issues to look out for with the SCV6 or D5 in general? Which years/trims have CarPlay? Any other buying tips or insights much appreciated

Simply put? Yes. There’s been no miracles at JLR recently.

The SCV6 has the same coolant pipe issues as the 5.0 V8?

Yes. Just replaced one on a SCV6 LR4 last week.

That’s what I was afraid of. Assume there’s been no improvement in this issue between the LR4 and D5?
