I have a 2000 discovery II and want to put 245/75/r16 all terrain tires on it, but I don't have any lift. Will the fit and will the fifth tire on the back fit as well..

Buzz,

I put the same size tire on my 2000 with no lift, and haven't had any problems. I did have to relocate the spare tire mount though. I think there is a tech section on EE that describes how to relocate it.

Thanks Jeff-
Is there any way you could forward me the link on the rear tire mount relocation, I am unable to find it...

Thanks again

I have 245/75/16 on my currently stock-suspended disco (posted a pic for a fella above) and have had no problems in 2 years. I also didn't have to invert the tire carrier, so don't do it as a matter of course. I do get a little "squeak!" from the tire when closing the back door, but I believe this pressure on the bumper is the only reason I still HAVE a bumper back there :D

A 245/75/16 spare may rub on the rear bumper depending on the type of tire. I'd try it out first before making any changes. As an alternative to the EE spare tire bracket relocation, you might consider the relocator available from Rover Connection -- http://www.roverconnection.com/ -- a Summit part, but sold via Rover Connection. It has some drawbacks, but is only a 5 minute install.

Used to have a Monster, Andrew... Currently between ducs. My wife wants me to buy an MH900e, not sure about that, or what's next :D

Gotta love desmos.

Mark: I am going to be fitting larger tires, soon, so that part looks interesting. What are the drawbacks?

Doing great, trying to decide what lift I want for the Disco. Have you lifted yours yet? Haven't heard from you in awhile

nope no lift yet. but, when i do it'll either be the SG stage II kit or the RT 2" lift kit. haven't done anything else to the disco yet. i'm hoping santa will fill my list with dreadnought sliders and QT diff guards. ;) i've been out of town a lot on holiday this past month. so hopefully i'll be settling down here real soon, and you'll hear more from me.

Cool! I am thinking RTE 2" or OME 3"... Waffling alot :p

I am also considering buying a Disco Trek I have a line on. Well setup already, just needs a lift. I'll wait until that shakes out before I decide on the lift.

Don't be a stranger!! ;)

The Summit/Rover Connection spare relocator drawbacks are: 1) that the tire sits about an inch higher (and is a larger size) so you loose more rear visibility; and 2) the tire sits about an inch further from the door which again decreases rear visibility and increases the leverage effect of the tire's weight on the door/hinges. I have the Summit relocator and have been very happy with the results.

Thanks for the tips. Will it accomodate 33-sized tires, or just 32's?
