That was pretty funny.. It was a Yota though. The Rover would gone straight thru that water. I am just curious as to what they thought those logs would do in all that water??

I think they were trying to get them under the tires to get some traction..

Now, the obvious lesson that this video teaches?

1. Don't wheel alone.
2. If wheeling alone, be prepared. Have a winch, have stuff incase you get stuck [water, warm clothing for night, etc..]
3. Always check the depth of water pits before crossing them!

From other peoples stories, within the pine barrens the rangers will come out and recover you, or tow trucks can get back there and pull you out.. I don't know why those guys didn't stay with their truck after calling 911.. they could have easily of given them the GPS coordinates and wait a couple of hours.

Funny stuff..

That pit looks like the one where Dean got a flat.

Its actually pretty easy to get through...they probably did not have mud tires.

No doubt I am always more prepared than those guys. But then again I could tell a story about blowing a diff, rear drive shaft, trailing links, tire and then nearly draining my battery attempting to winch the rest of the trail.

Some of us just have to learn the hard way-- but I did learn.

Fact is they AND their vehicle were both OK and in 4 hours likely they only had to walk about 5-10 miles.

No biggie.
