door only opens from inside the car!

Hi, my drivers door only opens from the inside of the car and won't open using the outside latch. is there anything I can do to fix this problem or am I going to have to pay an arm and a leg to LR to fix it? it's a 95 DISCO. I have the same problem with both rear doors but they're exact opposites in that they only open from the outside! lord have mercy. I can't figure out what's wrong with them and have done searches but the threads that I have found on this and other forums only disucss door lock problems where you can't open from BOTH the inside and the outside of the car. in my situation you can open the door just fine from the inside (on one door) and the oustide (on two doors). I've tried fiddiling with the child safety lock with no luck but haven't opened up the doors to check the mechanisms. should I?

Check out the TECH section, titled Door Handle Adjustment.

I did this with my 95 and it worked great.
Although this is for the front doors, I would assume the rear operate very similar.

You can knock out a door a half hour (that's 2 hours for the 4 doors).
