has anyone tried the dual shock setup on a dI. i saw at kit from dap inc that kind of caught my eye. it uses the big blue springs. is this a good kit? is it better than getting the 3" ome lift? any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Good Morning, Jeff! I don't have dual shocks on my Rover yet, but do plan to as time & $$$ permit. I do have OME springs on a couple of my trucks & have great results w/them. 3" of lift will require more that that, though. Do you still have your rubber Rotoflex on your rear driveshaft? If you do, save yourself some $$$ now and replace w/a u-jointed driveshaft as the Rotoflex/Lift don't mix! Yeah, I thought I could get away w/it too, so I did my rear driveshaft after the springs. I should've done it first! Extended brake lines will also be needed, and well worth it, overall brake function seems better. there are other issues as well that slip my mind for now, but I'm sure someone will give more info. How long have you had your D1? I really like mine, it serves me well! Thank You, LRW.

i was going for the 3" setup from expedition exchange and was getting ready to order my shocks and springs when i saw this dual set-up. yes, i do still have the rotoflex and was planning on replacing it. just need the money for it. i'm just wanting to hurry up and get the lift before my tires wear out. don't want to have to buy a different set when i buy the lift. don't have much money to play with in college. i've had the rover for about a year. always wanted one, but decided for a sports car for my first. bad decision should have went straight for the land rover. love it, will never own another vehicle

Dual shocks do help to spread the "shock" load between the pair, giving you less fade & better handling, from what I've seen w/my other vehicles. Dap is a great company to deal with, I think I got my replacement rear driveshaft from them. Change the driveshaft first, or you will be changing the Rotoflex on a regular basis @ $70.00 ea. (My R-flex didn't last a month after my spring install, & it was new!) Thank You, LRW.

With a 3" lift you must change your rear driveshaft to a double cardan and ofcourse the rotoflex must go. I have single OME shock absorbers and they work fine. Spend your money on a new driveshaft instead of the double shocks.
