ECU and Lights...

In my previous post about my misfiring/water issues the ECU was mentioned. Can I just unplug it with no problems or will some kind of warning light come on that will need to be reset? I want to check out the connections and waterproof them a bit but I don't want all of my warning lights to come on.

Second, the red light that lights up inside of the AC button does not work (the AC does). Do I need the whole switch or is there just a bulb to replace? Same goes for the top left switch on the instrument cluster (rear defrost I believe) except that the little green light comes on when pressed but not the light in button it self.

The whole A/C switch for a D1 is like $15 new at the dealer, so don't fight for a bulb.

You can pull the defrost sw. and replace the illumination bulb.

Discos don't mind you unplugging the ECUs as long as the key STAYS OFF THE WHOLE TIME. Just plug it back in completely before you switch the key on again, or you WILL be visiting the dealer to get the lights turned off.
