If I don't run my 99 D2 for a day or two, the battery dies. I thought it might be a bad battery, but I got a new battery and the smae thing happened again.

I susspect that there is a short somewhere, but I have no idea how to track it down. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to diagnose this problem?

Thanks,
Mike

Is your D2 100% stock, or do you have an aftermarket stereo and other electronic goodies in there??

My D2's battery used to go dead after 3-4 days of me not driving it, do to the parasitic loads of the electronic gadgets I've got installed (lots of 'em!!). I recently bought one of those solar battery rechargers and wired it up. It seems to satisfy the energy requirements of the parasitic loads enough to keep my battery at least to the point where the truck will start, even after 2 weeks of no driving. My next step will probably be to get an optima yellow top.

Mike,
Unless you have the experience and testing equiptment to track down an open circuit or a dead short , take it to a shop.
