Fitting Driving Lights to D1: Wiring Question

I Bought some new KCs for my rig this past weekend. My question: will the lighting controller (does a D1 even have a lighting controller?) care if I run the driving lights relay from the high-beam circuit. I've heard stories about different cars not liking additional loads on the lighting circuits, and the controller shuts the lights down as a protective measure. The relay is a standard automotive 12v automotive relay with two switched outputs (one for the right light, another for the left).

I wouldn't run them on high beems myself, but that is me... I would run them off of the fog light switch.

As long as you are using a relay, with as seperate power supply, you should be fine.

Of course (non of my business) I wouldn't run KC's either.

In Iceland, your driving lights have to be switched with the high beams (fog lights can only work with the low beams, too). You can't turn them on independently of the other lights either - it's a failure on the safety inspection.

I've always run KCs, never a problem.
