wow looks like a great price on a fridge that size.

I have a ARB made by Engle as do lots of others around here and they are very proven but they also are about $700.

but one and be the first...it should be cool to see how it works

i downloaded the manual it doesn't mention the amp draw, but it does mention that the compressor fan runs non stop.

the reviews look positive though. Buy it and let us know how it works.

Engle does not actually make the ARB fridge. They are BOTH made by the same company. Just very similar specs. I think it's Outback ???? I forget, but the folks at ARB told me once who made them.

I'd be curious about the amp draw as well, but I don't like the fact that it's running all the time.

I have been saving my pennies for an Engel but happened across this one. Beside the cord, if the fan does run all the time I'm sure the battery won't hold out as lond as the reviews claim. Also, there is no mention of mounting such as the slide bracket. I think I'll wait until I get a few more pennies. I also have a Coleman thermo electric, ok as a backup in the garage, as long as it's not too warm out, but worthless on camping trips. It was free though.

This fridge looks interesting as I'm just now investigating these for a spring purchase. As I can buy an Engel here in Canada, I think that will be my route. Edgestar doesn't seem to have any Canadian dealers and having to ship the thing back to the US for service will be a nightmare. Also, with the current US/Can dollar exchange at around 25%, buying a fridge imported directly into Canada makes sense.

I think continuous fan would be annoying and an obvious spot to fail or wear out too soon. I take mine on multi week trips in the summer and like that it's so well insulated I can count on it not coming on much if I happen to sleep inside where the sound would be annoying.

ARB is coming out with a new revised model now too.

The 45 draws between .7 and 2.5 amps. I just ran mine on a deep discharge battery from Friday night to Monday afternoon and it still read 12 volts.

I have had this fridge for a couple weeks now. Been doing some testing and so far so good. I installed an "always on" 12v plug in the back and have left on for 24hrs and the disco started right up. Here are a couple pics....

Just got back from the Cape and I ran my Engle constantly, (I also installed an "always hot" jack in the back) On a 4 year old Diehard I had no problems since I start up and drove somewhere every day. Prior to leaving I did run it about 30 hrs and had to jump start the truck. Probably time to get a new battery anyway.
Inside the truck it got over 100 but still kept my beer at 36. Life is good!

Ive had mine plugged in for 48 hours set at 33 degrees. Truck still started up no problem. I have a nothing special napa battery in my D1. The cig plug is shit, and I just hardwired it to a bluesea fusebox.

That post about the compressor constantly running is not true either.
