From Auto to Manual

I just finished reading all the info on the guy that put a stick into a D2. That looked like quite an adventure. Seems like the consensus was that the Rover manual transmission isn't very good.

I'm not going to do it but I did have a couple of questions. This is assuming it is gas and you aren't moving to diesel.

1. If you could put whatever you wanted in as far as a manual transmission what would you pick?
2. Has anybody done this? I love looking at the blog posts .

The standard R380 box is a good transmission if it's set up properly at build. It's a LOT better than the LT77 that it's based on.
