I'm James from Midland, Texas.
I've got a 2005 Freelander that was recently lifted before the Land Rover National Rally in Colorado. I had a few other small mods before the event but I broke my leg a week before the Rally so I missed out on it and still haven't finished the mods.
I've got a ton of pics of the Freelander so here they are.
I can't wait to get the rest of the mods on.
This is the only lifted picture I have for now.

So I just have one question for you.

Why? That would be like me putting a lift kit on my wife's Chrysler Pacifica. I'm sure she would look superfly picking up the kids at school, though.

Ah, well...to each his own, I suppose.

Nice pictures.

I really liked the 05 Freelanders....I've considered getting one for a daily driver but I've heard too many horror stories. Might pick up an LR3 or LR2 in the next few years if I can keep the Disco running as a trail truck.

Have fun!

the freeloader isn't llike a pacifica. it actually isn't too bad off road. it would've been better with a little more ground clearance from the factory. it doesn't have low range. it's not a disco, but seriously, it's still a land rover.

now, that all being said, the freeloader is piece of junk. it's a piece of junk because of its drivetrain. i just got mine back after two months in the shop, dealing with my crappy extended warranty company and the somewhat poor service from the repair shop itself (took forever, they left the rear window open and it rained like two inches of water into the back and they cracked a tail light).

i ended up with a used 40,000 mile transmission. mine went out at 75,000 so i guess i'm lucky if i get another 35,000 out of this one. the transmission is by far the worst thing about the freeloader. type "freelander transmission" into google and the first thing you'll get is a lawyer advertising for a class action lawsuit (i signed up). pretty much every jatco tranny breaks before 80,000 miles. and just so you know, it's about $2500 to buy a remanufactured one and another $2000 in labor make the swap.

i'm selling mine as soon as i can. it's actually my wife's ride and we both love a lot of the features it has and the look of the vehicle. but it's so unreliable and expensive to fix that it's just not worth it to own.

my advice is to stick with old discoverys and range rovers. when crap breaks on my disco at least i can fix it.

continental warranty. do a google search and you'll see how many people hate them. i'm hoping there's some sort of class action lawsuit against them too.
