My UK supplier sent me a G4 LR3 rasied air intake to see if anyone is interetsed on this side of the pond. Price depends on how many ordered. If anyone is interested drop me a PM or post here.

I can sell the one sent over for $400.00 plus shipping. These are genuine and brand new with all hardware and instructions.

Has anyone checked the dealer for a price for this part? Just curious as the one he is refering to is the only raised intake available from Land Rover. The dealer may need to look around to find the right part numbers, but Land Rover NA released almost all the parts needed to duplicate the G4 LR3 (they did not release the roof-mounted lamps). You can get the brush bar, winch, front lamp guards, rear lamp guards, ladder, rack, air intake, skid plate and G4 stickers all from the dealer. Big $$ though.

I know if I had an LR3 i would be ALL OVER this deal...how many oppurtunities will you get to buy a genuine LR snorkal...and also with the type of wheelin i usually do this would really boost my confidence and capability...plus how many other LR3's do you see on the road with a snorkal lol

Thanks for the pic, but is this actually any different to the standard LR snorkel??

Reason I ask is that the LR one is rated as a 'raised air intake', _not_ a true snorkel i.e. it doesn't seal. If you stop in water above the old air vent level, water will get in. Safari make one that seals (here in Oz), but it looks dog-ugly.

Cheers,

Gordon

If it's the same one, yes, there are slots on the bottom that allow moisture out, and potentially allow moisture in as well. A little bit of duct tape over the holes seems to work on a short term basis.

I think it's harder than that, because there is no sealing between the outer and inner skin, ergo water can enter. The Safari one replaces the ducting behind the vent as well, mating up to the snorkel.

But as I said, it's not exactly attractive.

Cheers,
