Me and a group of friends go camping once a month year round, usually in the North Georgia, or Southern North Carolina mountains. We are constantly looking for new places to go that has some 4wd trails. Anyone got any ideas on good spots? we generally stay around the Tate City, Clayton (i like those Tiger GA pics where is that spot? ), and Warwoman WMA area. Been to tellico once and really want to go back.

Not only suggestions, but anyone who wishes to hook up with us for a camping trip is more than welcome too. Check out the forum at www.oysterroast.com

Check out Uhwarrie National Forest in Central NC. I occasionally meet my brother there for weekend camping/off-roading. The drive is about 6 hours from Duluth (where he lives), but well worth it.

Uwharrie is closed from December to April.

Most of the camping is free, but there are places around with facilities and require a daily fee. Also, you have to pay $5 per day/ per vehicle to use the trails.

I would be game for monthly camping trip. There are some logging type roads near the Ocoee, been A long time since I've been there, also I have friends that have been up to some trails near Mont Eagle, TN that I can look into.

One thing I forgot to ask is if these are "family" type or adult only type camping trips. I have two sons, 7 & 9, who I have every other weekend. They like to camp and off-road too. I just wish they'd quit asking if we can get stuck every time we go out. They seem to have this unhealthy facination with the winch. Although I can't honestly say that I haven't had an unhealthy facination with a few wenches in my day. ;)
