Any of those few lakes ( large ponds or whatever you want to call them ) good for fishing? Anyone here know? I got a GWNF and Trout license a while ago and haven't used it yet. Was wondering if that was just a waste of cash.. Not really fishing for trout, looking for bass fishing spots. Maybe drive down, camp, do some fishing...

Switzer has a lot of fish in it...Hard to fish without a boat though...

The others have stocked trout. Not many left this time of year. Cooler weather is better for it.

The rivers are well stocked though...Almost anytime of year, Dry River can be a nice fishing spot for Native Trout. There not big, but damn good!

I've been out in a canoe on Switzer Lake and didn't have a whole lot of luck, but it was the middle of the day. If you want to use that trout stamp, there is some fantastic fishing on the Conway and Rapidan rivers much further to the east. You have to be willing to work for it though (lots of wading and crawling over rocks). I was out last weekend, need to get some photos up...

ya, there are a bunch of little lakes ( big ponds ) in the GWNF.. I was hoping that maybe you guys had been to more then what people have said so far.. Guess I'll just have to dig out that book they ( Forrest Service ) sent me and check some of the other ones out.. Trying to get my neighbors canoe although I may just go get one for myself or a kayak..
