I have an 04 Disco II 4.6. When I brake it almost feels like it has manual brakes and I really don't feel the spongy feel that you should from the brake booster.
My Rover is also running rough at idle like is has a vacuum leak. I have have check best I can and don't find any leaks so far. Is it possible that the brake booster is back and that is possibly where my leak is located?

Sure it can be a big vac. Leak.
Here's how you test a brake booster no matter what car you have. Pump the brake pedal a couple times to use up whatever vacuum is in the booster. Pump it till the pedal gets hard. Then while holding down the brake pedal, start the engine. The vacuum filling the booster should pull the pedal down further.

Thank a bunch for the tip.

Damn. Someone finally gets what everyone with a DII has wanted since 1999, and he doesn't even get to keep it. :ROFLMAO:

That's messed up. I thought I was having trouble, but giving a DII owner a properly firm brake pedal and then taking it away... That's just not fair.

Cheers,

Kennith

Here is the poor man's smoke machine that I did this weekend on my V8...
  • 1 rubber glove
  • 1 rubber hose
  • any kind tape roll
  • a 99¢ Black and Mild mini cigar... wine flavored... if that even matters...
First remove the air filter cover and MAF sensor. Then slip the opening end of the glove onto the lip of the inlet opening where the MAF sensor connected. Tighten hose clamp onto rubber glove. Cut a smal slit in one of the glove’s fingers. Feed the hose through the slit. Tape the hose well to the slit to make a good seal. Fire up the cigar, take a toke then blow the smoke into the tube a couple of times while holding the throttle linkage open. Cap off the rubber hose with your fingers or bend the hose to hold the pressure. Watch for smoke.

I've seen some good ones made from amo cans, regulator off a gas grill, some lantern wick, oil and wire. But you have to be messing with the wick and keeping oil on the wick.
The best smoke machine out there in my opinion is Smoke Wizard. At my shop we use the thing every day for years with no problems.
