01 Disco II the other day I noticed sag in overhead liner just behind front seat/ seat belt post both sides. Is this a sun roof problem, with air flow etc......Advise

LR has a long history of poor headliners. It is from poor construction. Basically the headliner is made of 4 components, Cardboard contoured to roof line, foam (to make head liner soft), cloth covering & glue.

Basically the foam breaks down & releases the cloth & glue from the card board. Usually they are repaired very easily.. The whole head liner needs to be removed & cloth & foam removed from cardboard then new cloth is glued to the backing...

It's probably just your typical headliner sag. :( That is where mine started to sag as well. The foam backing under the material is probably just beginning to disintegrate and that causes the separation and sag. There isn't really a great way to fix it long-term without replacing it altogether. I'm saving my pennies for a new one as well and am just glad that I'm short enough that it doesn't hit the top of my head when I'm driving. ;)

p.s. Were you at the rally this past weekend?

Yes, I should be under warranty( only 39k on the clock). But, man for them to take it down fix or replace just means lots of new rattles, maybe hole in the seat, and only knows what else. It just make me question???
What rally?
I was in Boston this past weekend with some good friends from e-solutions software. They developed ScoutAdvisor and work with a number of MLB teams. The Sox where one of the first to really acquire use of the data and build there team around it. It was great to see a company that made it through th dot.com pop.

I would bet it would mean a lot LESS rattles, because i'm sure that in 39k miles a few finishers have come loose. I would be very surprised if they did anything other than put a new one in. They do this all the time. I don't know why there would be holes in your seat. it's under warranty. Just schedule an appointment, sit back, and don;t worry about ti.

A pretty good solution if you are too lazy to fix the whole thing are headliner pins.

You can get them at any auto parts store. The heads are clear and about the size of a thumb tack with a metal piece threaded almost like a screw. They work very well and you don't even notice they are there. $2 gets you a package of 10.

I have re-lined the headliner in our '94 and its a pretty easy (but time consuming) job...but if you can get it your dealer to replace it for free then have them do it. Its one of those things that you kind of need to do a few times to do it 'really good' so I would avoid doing it myself if you dont need to.
