Hella 550 fog lamps

Just curious if it's possible to replace the factory fog lamps (96 D1) in the front spoiler with the Hella 550's?

Rover1, your answer is yes. Plenty of us have simply tapped into the existing wiring and use the factory switch to power our Hellas. Typical mounting options vary from the brush bar to directly on the bumper itself.

yes it is possible. I replaced the factory integrated bumper fog lights with hella 550's. They do not point exactly how i wished they would have, but they get the job done, and you can hook them up and use the same wiring. Drop me an email and i'll send you a pic of it.

If there were never auxillory lamps installed from the factory is the wiring harness still there to wire Hella lamps to?

Yes I believe that you will find a set of wires behind each headlight! They are there on my 97!
