And from the side, while I like the lines, it looks too wimpy for the great size/height of the body panels on that truck. The LR3 always looks like a fat or pregnant Disco to me...

NHESS81 said:Touche, sir! I was just warning that the board hammers might come down hard on it. Doesnt seem terribly bad, whats the weight limit on LR3 roof rack? Seeing as they dont utilize rain gutters, how much can the stock roof bars handle (since that rack is attached to them? right?)?

jwest said:Well, the Hannibal rack I have is rather quiet actually. But then again I made my own version of an air dam in front of it joining the edge to the roof at about 45 degrees.
The Aluminum extrusion C-chanel style design is strong enough but I can put the thing on top myself.
I mainly got it because the awnings mount right to it but the rack is prettyt nice and many accessories allow jerry cans on top, shovel and high lift mounts as well as the roof tents (not my thing but cool idea).
The lr3 has 2 factory mount points on the lower roof area near the front and then of course anywhere along the stock track. 165lbs may be the literature but that seems like some kind of overkill limitation.
