I was going to buy some Magnecor ignition cables for my Disco I 1998. Is it the 7mm wires I need? If there is a brand better suited to the disco, could you also let me know that.

The 7mm replacement wires are fine. They will also fit "best" into all the clips and such in the engine compartment. If you want to get (possibly) better spark performance, the 8mm wire set is not much more expensive. They are a bit of a squeeze to fit into the wire clip/organizers...

Unless you have already bought them http://www.apexperformance.net/ has a great price on them and Magnacore drop ships them to your door. I got the 8 mm cheaper than I could find them anywhere else, but you may do better, you never know..... call and check, there web site does not show LR. But they were very helpful and got me the right ones.
I got the 8.5mm from Apex also. They do fit the holders, you just kind of roll them in - silicone is very soft and flexible as some of you may already know
