some new shots on the link now. today it "decided" to go up higher into "extended mode" damn thing was tall as hell compared to where I'm used to seeing it and how high up i'm used to getting onto the seat.
my guess is due to lack of traction fairly equally on all 4 wheels, it thought it was "high centered" as my fianc? declared. however i was going up a steep loose gravel slope with a small ledge (in the steepest shot pointing downhill- i was curious about reversing traction up-backwards).
i was complaining, to myself and to others about the loss of the old disco driveline parking brake system that locked all 4 wheels....so, i figured out how to get the lr3 to "use" all 4 to hold on a hill while getting out. in low gears of course, just have it in the gear against the gravity (ie, in reverse if pointing down, in drive if pointing up), stop with the foot brake, apply electronic parking brake, car holds position just fine. however, this wouldn't apply to no engine running and stalled power to all wheels. this works running because the low gearing holds so well when not giving any throttle. it's kind of a temp fix but still annoying because it is only short term while the disco 2 parking brake will just sit there holding it all week not running.
this is all about steep slopes and primarily where the rear wheels braked are not enough to keep from sliding - not really very steep to occur.
