I was in Las Vegas for thanksgiving and I attended the MotorTrend Auto Show with my pops. As always, we spent a lot of time at LR. I was speaking to one of the guys there who does some off-roading and we got on the topic of lifts/LR3s,ride height, etc.

He explained to me that there is a "ride height sensor plate" in the rear somewhere that can be removed and flipped over. This tricks the sensor and the LR3 will sit much higher than its regular rock crawl setting.

I thought bullshit at first, someone enlighten me...please.

There is a sensor in the Pass wheel well that this can be done. You're not "flipping it over", only "tying it up" to "trick" the ECU to thinking it's at the factory set height.

All it's doing is adding air to the air bags. This may give you extra bumper height, but it maxes out your wheel travel/articulation. Could you imagine 4-wheeling a go-cart with no suspension movement? Yeah.......

It's a pretty worthless mod, IMO. Only advantage I could see you're gaining is the ability to travel over the 20mph limit while in "lift mode".
