You're in CA are you sure the MB diesel is going to be available there?

Expect LRNA to trail the rest of the US market on diesels-simply because the concept of diesel and luxury isn't yet acceptable to sufficient numbers of people to warrant certification, regardless of the mpg logic etc.

Chris, I don't think it's happening for us. Not unless you have a commercial license.

Technically it's not going to be available in CA with the MB diesel. But since it will be available in the rest of the country, there are ways to get it into CA legally. A lot easier to "import" a car from out of state Vs. out of the country.

The new diesels these days are amazing, fuel mileage is just one of them. I drive 20-25K miles a yearly, an oil burner can't come any sooner for me...:ack:

I read an article that said that LR would start offering a diesel in North America in 2008. The new lower sulfur diesel will be available here starting 2007, so I guess that is why they are waiting until 2008. Supposedly LR will offer a 50 state diesel. I for one am looking forward to it.

Last time I asked land rover they sent me an email about the low sulfur requirement, and that they would introduce the diesel here as soon as we had that fiasco under control. (Of course they stated that in multiple paragraphs with lots of niceties.)

Keep your fingers crossed we will be able to not postpone the sulfur rules another 15 times...
