Maine Brookies

Had a few hours between training events and hit a local hot spot here in the mountains of Maine. Caught about 15 fish, not huge but good trout for the area and water.

One fish had 2 snelled hooks in it, the leaders were still sticking out of its mouth. Fucked me off, its a fly fishing only area. Not that i am a snob when it comes to fly fishing vs regular fishing, but if the law says "fly only" than thats what it fucking means. Redneck fucktards (most likely from out of state) dicked it up. Still dont know how that little guy broke off their main lines though.

Caught the first one on a hopper, the rest were on small minnow imitations, muddler minnow, and wooley buggers.

Here are a few pics:

We don't have trouts here unless they are stocked. We do have creek chubs and shiners that are about the same size and put up a good fight. It does make for some good small stream fishing.

Nice! Caught some(Colorado) Brookies on upper Arkansas when out at National Rally.I think I like flyfishing for Trout as much as I do wheeling the Rover. Why we try and combine both whenever possible.Beautiful little fish.

No need for pity. I can catch smallmouth bass all day long. I can go north and catch some Steelhead.

Saugeyes, walleyes, largemouth bass, crappies, bluegills, channel cats and giant flat head cats are quite common here. The just don't require a fly rod.

I love catching Smallies as well.We have some great Smallmouth streams in Missouri.Kind of like trout fishing except Smallies have a real attitude.I'm headed to Arkansas weekend after next to do some tailwater flyfishing on the White(monster Rainbows and Browns). Can't wait.
