Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I recently bought an '01 Discovery after owning 3 previous Jeeps, two of which I built for the trails here in Colorado and Moab, UT. It's really weird to know so much about Jeeps then buy a LR and have no clue to anything. Heck, I don't even know what name the axles are, like Dana 44 for example, or what gear ratio I have. It's really a whole new ball of wax for me.
Anyway, I look forward to learning about these rigs and getting on the trail.

Happy Trails!

Thanks! I'm off on Mondays. I may have to run up there to get the skinny on these rigs. I hate not knowing about what I'm driving. I do know that I love it so far!

Is there a pretty good number of Colorado folks on here?

So what are you doing to your truck first?

Honestly I probably won't be doing much to it. I'll just wheel it like it is, nice and stock. I've been wheeling for quite some time and am pretty confident in my abilities as well as the rigs. I've never really gotten into the hard-core stuff like Indy, Patriot, Pritchett, ect. There is plenty of trails here in CO as well as UT that a stock LR can handle like Red Cone and Hell's Revenge. The only thing I'm concerned about is the departure angle and tearing up the bottoms of the quarter panels. Quite a bit more overhang than a TJ!
Anyway, I am looking foward to getting out and enjoying some trails and meeting some new people!

Are the axles manufactured by Land Rover? What model are they? Like Dana has the 30, 35, 44, 60, ect and Ford has the 9". Are they like a LR60 or something? :)
