anyone see the new rover commercial that aired this week. my girlfriend saw it (shes a hardcore enthusiast) and said it was a good one...not a mall crawling one. shows a modified disco wheeling (thats right modified and not a camel truck) and it ends with a black stock disco...anyone?

yeah, the commercial is airing here in So. Cal. I have an 03 Discovery S and its good to see old school Discos wheeling hard. I highly doubt we'll see similar style commercials when the LR3 is released.

I too saw it all the way in the sticks of Tennessee. It was refreshing to see a commercial that showed what our vehicles are capable of.

I have been looking for the commercial online, but can't seem to find it.

If anyone can find it, please submit the link.

I saw it twice in the past week in NJ.. cant remember what channels though.. definitely a great commercial... i'd love to find an avi or mpeg of it somehow.

Landrover USA does have videos of all their commercials online, but unfortunately, this one isn't on yet. Out of the two they have there, I've only seen the speed bump one on TV.. the other one is kinda lame. http://www.landrover.com/us/en/Products/Discovery_2/Gallery/Videos.htm

Hey I only saw the commercial once for a quick second and it looked like it was probably a camel trophy truck. I guess the fact that I was wrong about that warrants a new thread, heh? My bad, I'll shut up now. :confused:

They were showing Camel Trophy footage, but blurring out the Camel Trophy logo.
Oh yeah- bring it in muddy and they'll void your warranty... :eek:

I brought mine in muddy, day after I went wheeling.. had a whining to it.. ended up some belts needed replacing and some timing fixed, plus a lightbulb in my clock burnt out.. they replaced everything no charge..

I remember watching one back in 1994 that was all camel trophy footage. Specifically the scene that did it for me was a disco flying up this muddy mound of dirt and doing an endo into the ground in front. It sort of stuck in and then the ass came down and bounced, the guy truns the wheel and drives away to the right off camera.

I would have to say that commercial along with the ads of the D-110 in omni magazine back in '93 are the reason I bought a disco the after my trooper died. If they can beat it like that in the commercial, it will suit me fine i figured.

here i am three rovers later. hope the new models can stir that kind of ownership experience.

it's funny. I've seen this commercial and I have been meaning to visit the website. I had no idea it was land rover related. I took the extended test, twas fun.
