I have an '05 first build LR3 HSE. I have taken it through mud pits in British Columbia and rock crawling in Moab and it has performed like a champion. I finally got a pair of Goodyear MT/R's and look forward to the additional bite. The only complaint I have it the plastic trim that keeps getting ripped off the rocker pannels. Otherwise I have had no problems at all. Still looking for a set of rocksliders and a lift kit, though. A couple of pics from last year.....

I don't think those are rock sliders. They call them "Sill Protectors". I have not seen them in person yet, though I heard from one guy who has them that they will not support a Hi-Lift or anything like that, so I think sliders are still a ways off.

I am chasing down a few rumors about sliders. I am aware of three different shops kicking around ideas, but nothing fab'd yet that I am aware of. I am looking forward to getting some soon as I can!

What is considered a 1st build Vs. 2nd build LR3 in the calendar year?
