Got in my Rover this morning and started it up, as I do every morning that I drive it and not the bike. Only thing that I noticed different this morning, the oil light stayed on for about 5 seconds after I started the engine. I actually reached for the ignition to turn the car off when all of a sudden the light went out. Did it again after sitting 8 hours at work.
I know I'm about due for an oil change. Went past my 5k to about 6k on the oil. I have religiously used Royal Purple synthetic.
The engine has 106k in a 98 Disco1.
Could this be an indication of the oil pump going out?
