OME (front) shock appears to be busted somehow

I noticed one of my front shocks was loose just about the passenger shock tower. I am unable to tighten it back up.

It appears that the bolt is broken somehow. I had some channel locks on the upper portion of the shock (under the truck) to keep it from spinning. I must have turned that nut 100 times and it did not tighten. And I can easily move it a 1/4" in each direction. In other words, too much play.

Does this happen? Anyone know OME's warranty policy off hand?

I could be wrong, I bought mine quite a while back and not from BP.

No problem. Doesn't really concern me because I've had them on for less than a year.

I just hope they send me out one without any hassle.

Good Luck! I have tried to get one of my OME's replaced for almost 2 years.

The shock pulled apart where the shaft met the upper mount. There is a square hole in the top of the "shield" that the main shaft is pressed into, and I guess tack welded. Looks like the tack welds failed and the main shaft fell out. I can't remember right off how old it was, but it was under 6 month's.

I don't think it's fair to name the vendor, unless they want me to, because they visit here often. Plus, I would probably get bashed. Last time I was called a lier......

Fair enough.

But your description of the shock sounds similiar to what I've got going on.

What did you do to rectify it? Just buy another?

Yea, I just purchased two more from a different vendor (semi local guy who deals OME).

FWIW to anyone - Just called BP and they are sending out a replacement N45F shock, no questions asked, no additional cost to me.

I'll be swapping it out this weekend and sending the bad shock back to them.
