Good question. He’s a really good guy but it’s been some years since he was a LR cert mechanic and we all know how times have changed. I may need to just pull the cord use a more modernized shop.Does the shop you’re using have access to Topix?
Please keep the updates coming!I'm sure this is getting old by now but thought I'd offer an update on the "progress". So, the mechanic and I re-aligned and decided to loop in Autologic. They took the wheel and determined the PCM had in fact not been updated as the dealership said they did. They downloaded the update and that took the code away. We'll see if that in truth is the fix over time. I will say, we've never had any of the typical symptoms of a weak pump, just the CEL so fingers crossed.
Did you do LP fuel pump yourself? If so, what part and where did you buy? ThanksI did the update to a customers lR4 a year ago and it just came back for the same fault. It’s going to get a fuel pump, which is what we were doing at the dealership before the update was the fix.
I had a car I sold the flange and the pump on. That’s what I was doing to all of them. A service writer sold one without the flange cause money. I ended up taking it apart again and putting the flange in it. Not sure if it’s a one way valve or what.I did the update to a customers lR4 a year ago and it just came back for the same fault. Sure there isn't.I have a 2016 LR4 with 55k miles... did the recall for the gas flange in November, and within a month the check engine light came on. Took it in and Landrover said i needed a new fuel pump and there was no connection between the fuel pump and the safety recall (actually have them on video saying this... they sent me a verbal video diagnostic with the quote). They wanted $1900 for the repair, i declined and took it to my other mechanic where he confirmed it was the fuel pump. Replaced for $1200... but still throwing the POO89 code and check engine light. They replaced the fuel pump again thinking maybe it was a bad one, still throwing up the codes and check engine light. Replaced gas tank lid, both fuel pressure sensors - sensors in the fuel rail and in the eplastic line under the vehicle. (taking this off my invoice) - Updated the PCM to the latest software - AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON! Any miraculous discoveries on this dilemma? Dreading going back to the dealership in Houston.
