I think we want it but we are trying to find a picture of one of these installed with winch. Do you by chance have one of those? Are there specific winches that it works with and does it work with the fatory brush guard? Is there a cover that goes with this as well?

Hey Kavic,

i have one on my 01 HSE.

it looks like most of the parts are there from the picture Jeff posted.

couple things you will need...

1. Plastic cover (its not pictured so i dont think it has one) i believe that these bad boys run a few hundred dollars... yeah i know its just plastic... but IMHO i think the cover really makes the finishing touch to the winch mount... the whole winch setup is totally stealthy when the cover is on

2. you will need to get 4 brand new 7/16 x 5" bolts GRADE 8 or better. NOTE depending on where you live these little buggers can be hard to source...everyone one has smaller or longer bolts of grade 5 or less. But for some reason i couldnt find these at any of the local hdw stores. i had to go to a specialty industrial hdw store

3. Yes the mount is meant to be used WITH the factory brush bar

4. this is a job for a do it your selfer... but an involved one. it requires removing the front end of your RR... and cuting two slots in the bumper as well.

In the end you will have a BEAUTIFUL winch mount that is VERY stealthy. 99% of the folks who look at my rig never notice that i have a winch on the front. i think LR did an Excellent job on this.

i have promised John at www.rangerovers.net a tutorial on how to install it... but i have been a little busy at work... i will try and post it sometime this week. good luck!!!!

Also, i belive it only takes XD9000 winches...

NOTE you will want the older style winch where the "free spool" swithc is a "knob" not the lever style as i dont believe the "lever" style will fit under the cover.

I bought this used a couple of years ago to try and fit it on my RRC. My new truck already had an ARB winch bumper so it has just been sitting in my basement. I only have the parts pictured but I may be able to get the bolts from work.

Thanks for your interest,

Thanks Ken, I saw some pics on www.rangerovers.net of this winch mount. The work doesn't concern me but I saw the cover and I would definetly want that too.

Jeff, Let me see if I can find a cover somewhere.

nope thats not the cover... (the one sold on ebay) the one Kavic posted is the correct one

Jeffery, im heading out of town tonight and will be back sunday. i will try and post a pic of the cover.

i think your local LR dealer should be able to source it for you. they cost $200-300 new. IMHO i think the cover "makes" the setup as it fits perfectly :D

in any event if you do find one used, make sure all four of the mounting screws are in good condition. they are some kind of special "catch screw" NOT a normal screw. so im guessing that if the cover didnt have them it would be near impossible to replace them with out buying an new cover.

also make sure the winch tray has working "catches" for the winch cover... obviously one is useless with out the other.

good luck!
