I just sold mine for 20.5 k. Price didn't even include the tires.
It was a very solid and extremely reliable daily driver with lots of goodies like leather seats, inverter etc.
Prices are all over the place but all seem to be creeping down a little. If it is a LHD you will be paying more. Finding a truck with out a lot of rust is the key. As you know the 200 and 300 Tdi's didn't come in the years that we are allowed to import so that means a conversion. As with all of the conversions it can be great or not so great. Also check to see if it has converted over to 24 spline axles. If you purchase sight un-seen you are taking a chance so take that into consideration. If it is too good to be true, it usually is.
i personally wouldn't even think of a truck more than 15Gs. it's an old ass truck, and while import fees and shipping cost a good bit, it doesn't justify it being way more expensive just because it's a "defender". NAS defenders are so expensive because they're "rare". i wouldn't say the same thing for an 80s truck.
