Range Rover Classic - Condenser Fan Replacement Options?

One of the condenser fans became noisy and then died on my 92 RRC.

I can't seem to find a new one. I have a 90 parts truck but would prefer to replace it with a new part.

If the fan assembly isn't available new, does anyone know if the electric motor itself is?

I used the original wiring, it seems to work fine. As far as two 10" SPALs pushing enough air - definitely. Most of the original factory fans are dead by now, or barely turning, and owners completely unaware of that.

Well, the Spal fans are in. They should definitely move more air. The winch and oil cooler crowded my workspace so I just pulled the bumper. The install wasn't terrible once that was out of the way. I cut off the factory fan motor studs and welded new ones in for the Spals.

Really searching the memory archives on this one. If the fan is the same as a D1 then they can be fixed with a Toyota Corolla fan motor. According to Amazon, this is the one I ordered 11 years ago: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VFSXTW/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item
Those look like Discovery 1 fans for sure, but I think only the late RRCs shared fans with the D1.

My 92 RRC fan motors are two bolt fan motors, whereas the D1 and beyond have three bolt motors.

In any case, the 11" Spal fans fit nicely. I had to beat the hood latch support bars flat across the fan motors and tweak the horn brackets. If I mounted the fans a hair closer I could have avoided the latter. Both mods were easy though.

FWIW, here is what the original D1 fans look like. I have played with the idea of replacing them, but they spin strong and haven't built a strong enough case to go through with it.

FWIW...
Replaced the fans with 10" SPALs on a 95 SWB yesterday.
The only way to get to the top bolts holding each fan is to unbolt radiator brackets, move the radiator back as far as it can go, and unbolt the A/C condenser and push it back as well.
Then it's a 5/16" shallow socket on a shallow ratchet.

Good to know. Guessing it will be the same on my ‘94 LWB. Organizing the items for an A/C rehab on the Rangie and fans are on the list. Thx.
