You might want to go to Expedition Exchange and look at the 762 H.D. rear springs.

You may install OME763 rear shocks. They are the most heavy duty OME rear shocks for LR Discovery upto 1998 models.

What kind of trailer are you pulling and how much tongue weight is there? I pull a 17' boat and I know the tongue weight is probably around 300lbs. With 781's it dips the rear only a little bit.

Hey Brian,

It is a 22' w/ hardtop. Tongue weight is probably close to 400#. The truck has no problem towing it just sags...think the Extra HD would do the trick?? Or another solution?

By the way, what part of the island are you from?? Wifes family has a place on the north fork in Aquebogue.

Sean,
Tounge weight should be around 6% of the total weight of your boat, motor, fuel and trailer. 400lbs may be a bit on the high side. You can re-balance the trailer, but that means moving the axles. Or then the 763's with shocks to match. It may ride nicely towing your boat, but just don't know what kind of ride you will get without any weight. Maybe the 762's would be a better choice?
I'm on the South Shore, West Islip. What kind of boat do you have? I just got back into boating with a Montauk. I've had it only two months and already looking for something bigger :D .
Cheers,

Brian-

@ the 6% calculation toungue weight would be around around 325-330#. Have a 22' Bayliner that we use to cruise around the bay and bought the trailer just to be able to get the boat off the lift for the damn hurricanes that won't go away.....this season is costing me a boat load litterally!

I appreciate the input and will try and contact EE to ask about the unladen ride characteristics of the 763's.

Thanks again,Sean
