Reattaching rear-view mirror

I f'ing HATE Land Rover.

I broke off my rear view mirror recently, and went down to LR Flatirons to get a new pad. The guy said I had a rear-view mirror off of a D2, even though I assured him it was a D1 mirror.

They ordered me an adhesive pad that doesn't work, of course, since it's made for the D2 mirror I don't have. I spent a good 30 minutes soldering the auto-dim wires back together, and now it's just hanging there--Other than go back and hassle LR again, are there any quick solutions you guys have tried for reattaching the mirror to the glass?

Does super glue/epoxy really compromise windshield integrity?

Sorry guys, I know bumping is frowned upon, but I consider myself a regular enough to not incur the wrath of too many people. ;)

It's too urgent for me not to go.. Bump!

My mirror fell off about 2 years ago so I went to the local hardware store, got mirror adhesive for about $2.00 and after whiping the old pad off with alcohol I put a small amount of glue on the window and the mirror, then held it in place for a minute. I have never had a moments problem with it since with a total cost of $2.60 and five minutes labor.

I say forget the dealer and fix it yourself.

Good luck
