I don't have any photos, but it is pretty straight forward. There is a trim ring around the radio that will pop off with minor lifting pressure. There are several holes along the top of the radio frame. The two larger, inboard holes contain the securing mechanism for the radio chassis. You'll need to insert something into each hole simultaneously to release the clips, while gently pulling out on the radio. Aouple of drill bits will do the trick. Nothing needs to be forced to make this happen.
Don't forget the radio code before you start on this project!

Hey Trevor

thanks for reminding me about the Radio code... with that mentioned, i bought my P38 used, while the dealer did give me a new owners manual... it doesnt have the radio code... how do i go about getting the code info? will my local dealer be able to retieve it? or will i have to contact LRNA?

Ken, go to your local dealer with your VIN, they can retrieve the radio code. Even if you're taking the truck to the dealer you might want to consider taking proof of ownership with the VIN included. The dealer's service department personnel are the only ones that can help you. The sales guys used to be able to retrieve the codes, but apparently they (LRNA) have changed their procedures and you now have to go to the service department to obtain radio codes. I know this because I went to the dealer to get my radio code after replacing the battery and my title and papers were at home, 100 miles away. I had to drive home and fax my drivers license and title to them.

Ken,

It is unlikely that the mounting system changed. Land Rover wouldn't have spent money on new plastic moulds for the console area. The trick is to find out how to remove the bezel around the radio.

Let us (or John Brabyn) know how you got it out. If you can take pix to send to John, all the better.

All the best

Ron
