removing console vents

Is it possible to remove the vents in the console? On other vehicles i have owned the vents were removable by sliding a screw dirver and removing fasteners top and bottom and then the whole vent unit slides out intact. I do not see any visable fasteners when i look into the vent, so are the fastened from the rear? which would require removing the whole dash? the vent that is to the the left of the instrument gauges on the drivers side is broken it will not open or close. so i wanna replace it.

It's possible - just removed mine by accident when pulling GPS holder out of the vent. The vent comes out really easy: push on it from right to left and pull out. On the left side there's a pin with a metal spring that keeps the vent in place. If you push it hard enough the plastic bracket on the left will come out and you can pull it out then. Be sure to push and pull from right to the left not to break the plastic pin.
