Rover Smoking

Driving down the highway the other day and out of nowhere my 95 Disco starts to smell like burning oil. I look behind and see smoke rolling out. Next the engine starts knocking loudly and dies. I do regular oil changes and one was done 2 days prior to this. Now the Rover won't start! Any ideas about what happened?

is there still oil in your truck? kind of sounds line an oil line ruptured.

Yes, there was still oil.

Could be anything...How about looking underneath to see where its coming from?
Once you figure that out, we'll tell you how to fix it

Another possibility that I'm still dealing with...

I have a 95 Disco, and it was dumping some white smoke out the tail pipe. At first it appeared to be the headers, but was found to be a loose cylinder sleeve letting coolant into the motor. They should be putting in the replacement motor today or next week...

Reminds me it's time to go to the shop and bother the mechanics again...
