Howdy,
I'm new to the board, saying hi and looking for any opinions on the Rovertym 2" lift for the Discovery II. I will be putting a winch on and some skid plates. With any luck we will also be towing a boat in the future.

Thanks,

Eric

I would consider the RTE 3" over the 2". And if you have the extra cash, go for the Bilisten 7100's.

But, I don't own a D2.....So, thats just my $.02

The RTE 3" lift requires replacement of the front radius arms. That would put the lift out of our budget. I also didn't want to go to big 'cause I allready have a tough time having my TJ inspected.

Thanks,

Eric

Welcome aboad Eric, no need to change radius arms with RTE 3" lift, curious on where u got that info. I've had mine on for about year and a half with no issues (running long travel Bilstiens 9100's). Sway bars could be a issue, depends on if it's your daily driver, I haven't had either front or rear since I brought the rig in 2001 and I now have 71,000 miles on it and no it's not my daily driver. You'll need to extend the abs and brake lines, but that's about it... on a side note, interesting that you said u had trouble getting your TJ inspected. I've installed a 4" lift on a 95 yj and a 2 4" kits on TJ's and haven't had any problems in NYS,

Mongo,
I spoke with Steve at RTE. He said that I would need to change the front radius arms. The other issue is that the pan hard bar is not adjustable and would push the front axle to one side to the point where is would be noticable (My TJ has and adjustable pan hard bar that alowed me to readjust the front end).
As for the inspections on my TJ, it seems that every year there are more inspection stations here in MA are being fined for one thing or another and they all seem to be covering there buts....
